AXITEC SOLAR MODULES IN SEVERAL PROJECTS IN THE NETHERLANDS
AXITEC solar modules have been successfully installed in the Netherlands over the last few months and years in several projects. The projects were carried out in close collaboration with partners from the Netherlands. Particularly impressive is the TT Circuit Assen project, which was realized last summer.
AXITEC SOLAR MODULES AT THE RACETRACK TT CIRCUIT ASSEN
21,000 AXITEC solar modules 260Wp with a total output of 5.6 MWp at the Dutch circuit TT Circuit Assen generate energy annually for the power consumption of over 1,500 single-family houses. The impressive solar system does not only generate electricity, but also serves as a rain and sun protection on the 8-hectare visitors’ car park. Thereby 14,000 motorcycles of the visitors can be parked dry and shaded. This is the world’s largest covered motorcycle parking area with a photovoltaic system.
RACETRACK TT CIRCUIT ASSEN
The Assen racetrack was built in 1955. In 2006, the original circuit was rebuilt to its present shape and length. The curves are traditionally slightly increased, making them ideal for motorcycle racing. The track can accommodate 100,000 spectators. Every weekend, national and international events take place on the 4.5 km long race track. The most famous is the Grand Prix of the Netherlands, which traditionally takes place on the last weekend of June. This is where all famous MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 motorbike racers start.
